Step One
Press Play
That's the whole lesson. The records do the rest.
Live around the clock via Live365. When the music plays, the newest footprints on the floor dance along.
Step Two
Follow the Music
The fifties, sixties and seventies — with the heart of it beating in original rock & roll and doo-wop, mid-fifties to mid-sixties. The songs that filled the gymnasiums, the malt shops and the drive-ins.
Every record is pulled by hand from Vic's own collection. His rule is short enough to fit on a 45 label: "If it sounds good, it goes on the air."
Step Three
Meet the Man on the Mic
Vic Dubois has spent more than fifty years in radio — the last twenty-four as General Manager at Saskatoon Media Group, running two FM stations and an AM. He started as a DJ in British Columbia, worked his way through Alberta, then put down roots in Saskatoon. For twenty-four years he hosted The Sunday Sockhop on 98Cool-FM — four hours of the music he grew up with — until the show signed off on December 31, 2025. Listeners kept asking the same question: where do we go for this now? Sock Hop Radio is Vic's answer.
